New Delhi, Dec 9: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has promoted five Jharkhand Police Service officers (DSPs) to the Indian Police Service (IPS).

According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the officers who have been promoted to the IPS are Deepak Kumar, Manjarul Hoda, Rajesh Kumar, Roushan Gudiya, and Shriram Samad.
Deepak Kumar has been promoted against a 2022 vacancy, while the remaining four officers have been appointed to IPS posts under 2023 vacancies

.Meanwhile, the names of three other officers have been included provisionally in the select list. These three officers will receive their actual promotion only after they are acquitted in the criminal cases pending against them and once the state government issues their Integrity Certificates.
A meeting of the UPSC was held on November 10 to consider promotions for IPS appointments based on vacancies for the years 2022 and 2023. After deliberations, the UPSC finalized eight names for IPS promotion on December 8, out of which three officers were included provisionally.

The provisionally included officers are Shivendra, Radha Prem Kishore, and Mukesh Kumar Mahato. Their promotions will be confirmed only after they are declared innocent in the criminal cases and receive Integrity Certificates from the state government.
