Dhanbad, May 16: Braving the intense summer heat, thousands gathered in Giridih town on Thursday to participate in a grand Tiranga Yatra led by Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Annapurna Devi, commemorating the Indian Army’s victory over Pakistan under Operation Sindoor.

The highlight of the procession was a 25-foot-long national flag that drew admiration from both participants and onlookers as it passed through the streets of Giridih.

The Tiranga Yatra commenced from Jhanda Maidan at 1:25 PM and made its way through Kali Basti and Muslim Bazar, culminating in a public rally at Bada Chowk. Union Minister Annapurna Devi and BJP MLA from Jamua, Manju Kumari, led the march, proudly holding the national flag.
Residents of Giridih, especially women and children, joined the rally in large numbers, enthusiastically chanting slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and hailing the victory of the Indian Army.
Addressing the rally, Minister Annapurna Devi said, “Operation Sindoor is a testament to India’s unwavering resolve to root out terrorism. This victory is a reflection of the bravery of our armed forces and the decisive security policy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.”

Prominent leaders including former Koderma MP and senior BJP leader Ravindra Rai, District Board Chairperson Munia Devi, Deputy Chairperson Chhotelal Yadav, and others were also present in the procession.
