Usha Martin University Jharkhand celebrates World Tribal Day

Ranchi, August 9: Usha Martin University celebrated World Tribal Day today, with an engaging event that highlighted the cultural heritage of tribal communities.

The celebration, presided over by the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Saurabh Chaturvedi, and Registrar Dr Anil Kumar Mishra featured a vibrant Nagpuri dance performance by students, accompanied by the traditional beats of the Mandar and Nagada.

The Nagpuri dance, performed by students in traditional attire, captivated the audience with its rhythmic movements and energetic spirit. The powerful sound of the Mandar drum and Nagada added to the festive atmosphere, celebrating the rich musical heritage of tribal communities.

In his address, the Pro Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting tribal culture, recognizing its vital role in India’s cultural fabric.

The event was coordinated and organized by Dr Sangita Kujur and Tanijar Munda.
