Jamshedpur, August 29: Loyola School came alive with colours, rhythm and youthful energy as it hosted its inter-school cultural fest ‘Rhapsody 2025’ under the theme “Sports – The Spirit of Life.”

The mega event witnessed participation from 17 schools, turning the campus into a hub of creativity, intellect and competitive spirit.
The inaugural ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Varun Raymond Aaron, former Team India fast bowler and Loyola alumnus, along with Rector Fr. Michael Thaneraj, Principal Fr. Vinod Fernandes, former Principal Fr. Victor Misquith, Fr. Cyril Tigga, and Vice-Principals Jayanthi Sheshadri and Vineeta Ekka. A prayer and a welcome song by the school choir set the tone for the day.

Introducing the Chief Guest, Vice-Principal Sheshadri highlighted Aaron’s achievements as one of India’s fastest pacers, his international debut in 2011, IPL stints, and his current role as bowling coach for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Felicitated with a sapling, Aaron inspired students with his message on resilience, confidence, and character-building beyond classrooms, before declaring the fest open.
The day was packed with vibrant On-Stage events like Mythmoves, Half-time Harmony, Sports Caster, Quiz on the Pitch and FIFA, along with equally engaging Off-Stage events such as Chhatri Kaleidoscope, Spotiva, Astro Javelin, Verse Voyage, Half Court Havoc, Pen’athalon, and Diplomatic Decathlon.
Each competition provided a platform for students to showcase their creative, artistic, and intellectual brilliance.

The closing ceremony was graced by dignitaries from Tata Football Academy, including Head Coach Steven Benedic Dias, Manager Rohit Singh, and players Rai Tachikawa, Pronay Halder and Pratik Choudhary. Winners across categories were honoured, with Carmel Junior College emerging as the Overall Champion, and Sacred Heart Convent School along with St. Xavier’s School, Gamharia securing the Runner-Up position.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Sir Anthony Rodrigues, JYOTI Co-ordinator, expressed gratitude to all participants and dignitaries for making the event a grand success.
