Jamshedpur, July 8: A youth was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Mango on Wednesday evening, triggering tension at Tata Main Hospital (TMH) and prompting the deployment of additional police personnel.
The deceased, identified as Rahul Bachcha, a resident of Gurudwara Basti in Mango, was attacked near Munshi Mohalla on Post Office Road in the Dimna area. He sustained critical gunshot injuries and was rushed to TMH, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.
News of Rahul’s death drew a large number of relatives and supporters to the hospital, creating a tense atmosphere. As a precautionary measure, a heavy police force, along with the Quick Response Team (QRT), was deployed to maintain law and order. Senior police officers, including DSP Manoj Thakur, reached the hospital to monitor the situation and supervise the investigation.
Police have launched an investigation to identify the assailants and ascertain the motive behind the attack. No arrests have been made so far, and investigators are examining all possible angles.
The killing has once again put the spotlight on the recent rise in violent crime in Jamshedpur. Police said efforts are underway to trace the attackers and ensure swift action against those responsible.
