The incident triggered panic among passengers and railway personnel, who repeatedly warned the man to get down from the train. However, the youth, identified as Sagu Ram, reportedly ignored the warnings and continued walking along the roof.

According to eyewitnesses, Ram told people trying to stop him that he intended to walk from one end of the train to the other. He had reportedly been moving around on the train roof for some time when he came dangerously close to the overhead electrification system.

He was subsequently struck by the high-voltage current and fell from the train roof after losing his balance. Railway personnel and passengers immediately rushed to his aid and shifted him to a hospital for treatment.

The youth is undergoing treatment and his condition was reported to be stable.

The incident briefly disrupted normal activities at the station and left passengers shaken. It also highlighted the serious risks associated with climbing onto train roofs, particularly at electrified railway stations.

Railway officials once again urged passengers and commuters never to climb onto train roofs, warning that overhead electric lines carry lethal voltage and can cause severe or fatal injuries even without direct physical contact.

The incident underscores the grave danger posed by trespassing onto train roofs, where coming close to overhead power lines can prove life-threatening.
