10 BJP MPs tender resignations from Parliament after victory in state assemblies

New Delhi, Dec 6: 10 out of the 12 BJP MPs elected to state assemblies in the recent elections submitted their resignations from Parliament on Wednesday, with the remaining two also set to follow suit.

Nine Lok Sabha MPs, including Union ministers Prahlad Patel and Narendra Singh Tomar, and one Rajya Sabha member are among the 10 who submitted resignation papers, as per officials.

Diya Kumari, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Rakesh Singh were among the other MPs who resigned.

Sources indicate that two additional Members of Parliament, Union Minister Renuka Singh and Mahant Balaknath, are also set to tender their resignations from the Lok Sabha.

This action is a component of the party leadership’s strategy to appoint new chief ministers in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan.
