Dhanbad, Nov 15: More than 25 women Panchayat representatives from across Jharkhand participated in a five-day leadership and management training programme at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.
The programme, designed for elected representatives and functionaries of Panchayati Raj institutions, was jointly organised by the Department of Panchayati Raj, Government of Jharkhand, and the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
On the concluding day, Prof. Rajni Singh, Dean of Corporate Communications at IIT (ISM), delivered a detailed session on Own Source Revenues and Gender Management, highlighting the increasing and indispensable role of women in grassroots governance.

Participants expressed deep appreciation for the training provided by IIT (ISM) faculty over the five days.
Rinki Kumari, Up-Pramukh of Sariya Block in Giridih, said the programme had transformed her understanding of leadership. She stated that she now feels more confident, empowered and better equipped to serve her community. She also credited Prof. Rajni Singh and the organising team for designing a holistic and practical curriculum on effective village leadership.
Rani Soren, Pramukh of Birni Block in Giridih, described the programme as a memorable milestone in her journey as a public representative. She said the guidance and encouragement shared by Prof. Rajni Singh renewed her motivation and strengthened her resolve to work more effectively for her community.
The technical sessions were led by Prof. Niladri Das and Prof. Rashmi Singh from the Department of Management Studies and Industrial Engineering, who conducted modules on financial management, resource mobilization, project planning and village development.

Additionally, Prof. G. S. Pathak delivered sessions on village management and shared insights through the ‘Dialogue from the Field’ segment.
