61.41% voter turnout in four Lok Sabha seats of Jharkhand in sixth phase

Ranchi, May 25: In the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections, polling was held on 58 seats in six states and two union territories including Jharkhand.

In Jharkhand, 61.41% of voting took place till 5 pm.

Voting was 58.73% in the Ranchi Lok Sabha seat, 58.90% in Dhanbad, 64.30% in Jamshedpur and 64.75% in the Giridih Lok Sabha seat.

By 3 pm, in the sixth phase, 54.34% of the voting took place in Jharkhand. Constituency wise 54.25% voting took place in Ranchi, 50.69% in Dhanbad, 56.14% in Jamshedpur and 57.11% in Giridih Lok Sabha seat.

At the same time, 49.20% voting took place till 3 pm in 58 seats of six states and two union territories. 70.19% of voters cast ballots in West Bengal, 44.58% in Delhi and 43.95% in UP.

In the midst of strict security and preparations, voting for the sixth round of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections commenced on Saturday morning across 58 parliamentary constituencies dispersed among six states and two Union Territories (UTs).

The sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections covers eight seats in Bihar, all 10 seats in Haryana, one seat in Jammu and Kashmir, four seats in Jharkhand, all seven seats in Delhi, six seats in Odisha, 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, and eight seats in West Bengal. There are 889 candidates competing in this phase.

The four seats in Jharkhand participating in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections are Ranchi, Dhanbad, Giridih, and Jamshedpur.
