Dhanbad, Nov 7: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Friday seized 96 cans of Haywards 5000 Premium Strong Beer from the general coach of train no. 12355 Howrah–Lalkuan Express at Dhanbad station.
According to RPF officials, the team found three unclaimed rucksacks in the general coach during a search operation. When no passenger came forward to claim them, the bags were opened, revealing 96 cans of beer inside.

The official added that the search was part of Operation Alert, a special drive being conducted across the railway division under the directive of the Senior Safety Commissioner. The inspection took place around 11:55 am when the train arrived at platform no. 3.

The seized beer, valued at approximately ₹10,560, was handed over to the Dhanbad Excise Department for further action.
The operation was led by RPF Sub-Inspector Abhash Chandra Singh, assisted by ASI Jiblal and constables Pramod Kumar, Vivek Kumar, Pravind Kumar, and Anil Kumar.
