Jamshedpur, Feb 20:  The Jojobera-based power plant of Tata Power in Jamshedpur, has been implementing some ground-breaking initiatives at its facility in a step towards fostering innovation and operational excellence.

In collaboration with GE, the Jojobera facility has deployed the DE-NOx System, featuring the cutting-edge DB+ controller.

Fewer CO2 emissions and safety measures

This innovative system not only significantly reduces NOx emissions, but also optimizes combustion, thus offering a dual benefit of enhanced NOx abatement and improved combustion efficiency, ultimately contributing to a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions.

In preparation for the evolving energy landscape, the Jojobera facility has successfully tested 40% technical minimum load operations.

This forward-thinking approach reflects Tata Power’s commitment to ensuring adaptability and resilience in the face of increasing renewable energy penetration.

Prioritizing safety, the Jojobera plant has demonstrated its commitment to a secure working environment by implementing cutting-edge Robotic Power Isolation in the 6.6 KV switchgear, eliminating exposure to high risks.

The Jojobera plant has also recently received some accolades for setting a benchmark in the industry which include:

♦ Environmental Excellence: Jojobera plant, has received the “Best Water-Efficient Plant” award from the Council of Environmental Excellence, underscoring Tata Power’s commitment to sustainable water practices

♦ Technological Leadership: The plant has also earned the Platinum Award in the 10th CII-IQ National Practice Competition for pioneering the adoption of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies with UPTIME AI.

♦ Tata Power’s Jojobera plant had initiated its operations in the state with the acquisition of a 67.5 MW coal-based captive power unit from Tata Steel.  The plant supplies electricity to city of Jamshedpur and Tata Steel’s plant. The plant remains at the forefront of innovation, pushing the boundaries of sustainable and advanced energy practices.
