Ranchi, Feb 28: Former chief minister and Barhait MLA Hemant Soren received a big blow from the Jharkhand High Court.

The High Court today rejected his petition by not allowing him to attend the budget session of the state assembly.

On Monday, the High Court had reserved its decision after hearing the petition filed by former chief minister Hemant Soren.

The former chief minister had challenged the order of the special court of Ranchi PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act), in which he was refused permission to attend the budget session.

This case was heard in the bench of Jharkhand High Court judge Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad.

Senior advocates Kapil Sibal, Piyush Chitresh and Shrey Mishra argued on behalf of former chief minister Soren.

On behalf of the Enforcement Directorate,  SV Raju opposed Hemant Soren’s petition.
