According to sources, the ED raided the jail premises after it got reports that some high profile accused lodged in the jail in land and mining scams were influencing the ED witnesses from the jail and hatching a conspiracy with criminals and extremists to eliminate the ED officers.

Sources said these accused were also found to be holding parley with several police officers to implicate the ED officers in false cases and also diluting the cases lodged against them with the state police.
