Jamshedpur, April 4: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre sounded a heat wave alert in Jharkhand from today.
The heat wave condition is expected to prevail for the next 72 hours or so.
The weather office predicted a 2-3 degree Celsius rise in day temperature during the next three days.
According to the predictions, heat wave conditions are likely to occur at isolated places over south-eastern parts of the state today.

On April 7, Sunday, thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) are expected at isolated places over the state.

A cyclonic circulation lies over Odisha and the neighbourhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
Meanwhile, concerned over the rising Celsius in Jamshedpur and its surrounding areas, several private schools altered school timing from today.
Loyola School in Bistupur implemented revised timings to prevent students from falling prey to heat stroke.
For younger children, including nursery and LKG students, the reporting time was at 8 am, with dismissal at 10.30 am.
Classes for students from UKG to STD V will commence at 7 am and disperse at 11.45 am.
Several other schools including Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya and Ramkrishna Mission School altered school timing from today keeping in view extreme heat while other schools were also contemplating altering timings from tomorrow and Monday.
