Ranchi April 8: Ace veteran player Dinesh Rakshit of Jamshedpur reached pre-quarterfinals in the 30th All India National Masters Table Tennis Championship being played in Nagar Indoor Stadium Hyderabad (Telangana).
In the first match of the main draw Dinesh Rakshit outclassed host state player Hemant Kumar of Telangana in straight sets 11-15, 11-8 and 11-7 while in another match he defeated Sundeep Sadar 11-9, 11- 6, 9-11 and 11-5 to book the berth into the last 16 of the championship.
The report reaching state Table Tennis headquarters from Hyderabad stadium said Dinesh Rakshit registered 7 consecutive wins in the championship right from the qualifying round to the pre-quarterfinal stage in the 50-plus age group.

At the time of filing the report, Jharkhand’s star master player Dinesh Rakshit was playing with defending champion Basab Choudhury in the evening.
Earlier Dinesh emerged as the group champion after winning all three matches in the group to qualify for the main draw. In the 50+ category, a total of around 350 players participated from across the country.
Chairman of Jharkhand State Master Table Tennis Committee Saket Kumar Sinha, Dinesh Rakshit made his mark in the championship by winning his all matches in fashion. His opponent never made any match to him in any set.
