Daltonganj, April 10: A 70-year-old passenger, Ganesh Kumar, was severely stung by a swarm of bees at the Kajree railway station while waiting for a train to Barkakana.

The bees’ attack was abrupt and fierce, said railway sources. It is not immediately known how bees got so out of their hives.

The 70-year-old passenger couldn’t run to escape the bees’ attack as his legs didn’t support him while other passengers at the Kajree railway station ran helter and skelter to dodge the bees.

A railway porter, too, had the brunt of the bees when one bee entered his earlobe and stung him.

The bee victim passenger got down at the Daltonganj railway station, where station superintendent Umesh Kumar and his team arranged an autorickshaw and sent the passenger to the MMCH Daltonganj for treatment.
