Jamshedpur, April 16: In all, seven persons were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of truck driver Sanjay Yadav alias Sunny Yadav under Ulidih thana area in Mango on Sunday.
The main accused among those arrested is Prabir Singh who conspired and executed the murder to avenge the murder of his brother Pradeep Singh five months ago.
The rest of the arrested persons were identified as Rahul Singh alias Rahul Baccha, Arjun Mahto alias Arjun Baccha, Rahul Rai, Raunak Sharma, Abhishek Shah and Ashish Burman.
While arresting the accused, the police seized three pistols and as many country-made pistons, 11 live cartridges, two bikes and an autorickshaw that had been used in the murder.
Revealing about the breakthrough, senior SP Kaushal Kishore said that Sunny had played a key role behind the murder of Pradeep Singh and ever since Sunny’s role had come to fore, Prabir Singh had been planning to avenge his brother’s murder.

“Rahul Baccha was assigned to carry out recce on Sunny Yadav. As Sunny was spotted while standing at a motor garage near Vasundhara Colony along the NH-33 under Ulidih thana area in Mango on Sunday afternoon, soon Rahul had informed Prabir about Sunny. Shortly afterward, Prabir reached the motor garage along with two others on a bike and shot Sunny dead,” said Kaushal Kishore while addressing a press conference on Tuesday.
According to the senior police officer, after committing the murder, the assailants had fled the spot and taken refuge at a place in Ghatsila and Hurlung area in Birsanagar.
According to the police officer, at first Abhishek Shah and Raunak Sharma were arrested from Ghatsila. Subsequently on being interrogated the duo confessed their crime and divulged about the main accused and others who were hiding at a brick-kiln at Hurlung.
The police soon raided the place and arrested the remaining five including the main accused Prabir Singh.
All the seven arrested persons were sent to Ghaghidih central jail after producing them all before a judicial magistrate in the evening.
