Jamshedpur, October 3: Police have arrested three persons in connection with the firing at Baradwari under Sitaramdera police station area in which a youth, Abid Hussain, was shot and injured.
Police have recovered two country-made pistols, three live cartridges and a scooter allegedly used in the crime from the accused.
The arrested persons have been identified as Raj Singh Kashyap alias Kodu (32) of Kashidih, Mohammad Kaif alias Smolu (23) of Sakchi and Dashrath Shukla (44) of Tuiladungri.
According to police, information about the firing at Phool Basti, Khushbu Nagar and New Baradwari was received around 11.15 pm on October 1.
Police immediately formed a special raiding team and reached the area to verify the incident.
During the investigation, police learnt that two youths riding a scooter had allegedly opened fire at Abid Hussain, injuring him. He was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.
Based on his statement, Sitaramdera police registered Case No. 105/2026 on October 2 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act.

Weapons Recovered During Investigation
Police subsequently arrested Raj Singh Kashyap and Mohammad Kaif, who were allegedly directly involved in the firing.
During interrogation, the two allegedly disclosed the location of the weapons and the scooter used in the incident. Police then recovered two country-made pistols, three live cartridges and the scooter.
Their alleged associate, Dashrath Shukla, was also arrested.
Raj Singh Has Criminal Antecedents
Police said Raj Singh Kashyap alias Kodu has several criminal cases registered against him at different police stations, including Sonari, Sitaramdera, Sidgora, Golmuri, RIT, Ghatshila, Galudih and Kadma.
The cases include allegations related to theft, assault, attempt to murder, extortion and offences under the Arms Act, police said.
Mohammad Kaif alias Smolu also has previous cases registered against him at Kadma and Sakchi police stations, according to police.
The police team involved in the operation comprised officers and personnel from the Sitaramdera and Sakchi police stations.
Police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the motive behind the firing and determine whether any other persons were involved in the incident.
