Jamshedpur, April 17: The vigilance team of South Eastern Railway following a tip-off busted a fake recruitment racket and nabbed four persons in a well-planned operation at Birbans railway station of Chakradharpur railway division yesterday.
A joint check was conducted by the vigilance team comprising three vigilance inspectors along with officials of Railway Protection Force (RPF) staff and a sectional Commercial Inspector.
Information was received regarding fake appointment for the post of CCTC (Commercial Clerk cum Ticket Collector) at the railway booking counter of Birbans railway station.
It was also alleged that fake appointment letter, Railway ID cards and posting orders were issued duping gullible job aspirants in lieu of money.

Three persons gave Rs 21 lakhs to secure jobs
During the course of interrogation by Vigilance team, three persons manning the railway booking counter at Birbans railway station stated that they were performing duties at Birbans railway station since March 11, on the basis of fake appointment letter and ID card handed over to them by the racketeers with assurance of monthly salary at the rate of Rs.10,000/- per month during three months training period and Rs.30,000/- per month after completion of training.
They were undergoing training at Birbans railway station. On further interrogation, they confessed before the vigilance team that they had given huge money (Rs 21 lakhs from three persons) to one person to secure the job.
All three persons (job aspirants) and one involved in the job racket have been nabbed and handed over to GRPS/Sini with unsold UTS tickets and their seized mobile phones.
An FIR was registered by the Government Railway Police (GRP) and further investigations are being carried out to nab the others involved in this racket of fake recruitment.
