New Delhi, April 24: Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) issued a cautionary note to the public on Wednesday regarding specific individuals or entities that are utilizing the company’s name and logo, as well as the image of top officials, for fraudulent advertising purposes on social media platforms.
In an X post, LIC urged the public and its policyholders to be cautious and check the authenticity of any such ads.
“It has come to our attention that certain individuals and/or entities are engaging in fraudulent advertising practices on various social media platforms by misusing the image of our senior official/s or ex-officials, our brand logo, and our brand name without our consent in an unauthorised manner. We wish to alert the public in regard to such deceptive activities,” LIC stated in a caution notification to the public.

The public was urged to report fraudulent advertisement URL links on LIC’s official social media accounts.
LIC stated that it will take necessary legal action against individuals involved in unauthorized use of its brand for fraudulent activities. The company reiterated its commitment to preventing policyholders and the general public from being misled by deceptive advertising practices.
