Dhanbad, May 6: A high-speed Scorpio ran over a school student and her elder sister, riding a scooty, on a lane road near Birsa Munda park under Dhanbad Sadar police station on Monday afternoon.
Class IX student of Denobili
Both the deceased were identified as class IX student Istika Horo, a student of Denobili Bhuli and her elder sister Jia Horo. They were the daughters of a senior teacher at BTM Malkera High School.
A police official said that the incident occurred at around 12.15 PM. Both sisters were returning from school on Scooty. Near Birsa Munda Park a high-speed Scorpio coming from the opposite side on the other lane became uncontrolled and after crashing with a divider crushed the scooty riders.

After the collision, the Scorpio turned turtle. Both the sisters died on the spot.

Two arrested
Deputy superintendent of police (headquarter-2) Sandip Gupta said that two Scorpio riders, Pradip Mandal and Raju Mandal have been arrested. Both of them also received minor injuries in the accident.
Police are probing whether they are adults or minors.
