Bihar criminal with Rs 2.25 lakh bounty killed in police encounter in UP’s Muzaffarnagar

Noida, June 6: Bihar’s infamous criminal was fatally shot in a police encounter in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar, an official reported.

The deceased criminal Nilesh Rai had a Rs 2.25 lakh bounty placed on his head by the Bihar government, according to the Noida Special Task Force.

In a coordinated operation between the Noida Unit of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and the Bihar STF on June 5th, an encounter ensued with criminals in the Thana Ratanpuri area of Muzaffarnagar. Nilesh Rai sustained severe injuries during the confrontation. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment but ultimately succumbed to his injuries, as reported by the Noida STF.

The Noida STF stated that Nilesh, the criminal in question, had a total of 16 cases lodged against him, encompassing charges such as murder, robbery, dacoity, and extortion.
