Dhanbad, June 5: Indian junior chess team coach International Master (IM) Neeraj Kumar Mishra highly appreciated the budding talents of Jharkhand and said that they need only exposure and proper guidelines to excel at the national as well as international stage.

Indian team coach Mishra, who was giving tips to junior players in a summer chess camp organised by the West Singhbhum District Chess Association (WSDCA) from May 27 to June 6 at Chaibasa Sitaram Rungta Recreation Town Hall, said that rich haul of talented chess players has come up in Jharkhand. They will make their mark on national, and international platforms, he added.

FIDE Junior Chess World Cup

International Master Neeraj Mishra has been nominated coach of the Indian team for the FIDE Junior Chess World Cup scheduled to be held in Batamuni Town of Georgia from June 210 to July 5.

Mishra also highly praised the West Singhbhum District Chess Association as well as its secretary Basant Khandelwal for organizing a special summer camp for junior players and said that such a step will help in grooming the talent.

On the occasion, International Chess Master Neeraj Mishra guided participants in opening preparation, how to defend in opening, middle game strategy and finishing skills in the match.

WSDCA secretary Basant Khandelwal said that a total of 33 junior players attended the summer camp. District president Mukund Rungta, camp coordinator Purushottam Saraf, assistant secretary Arpit Khirwal, chief coach Manish Sharma and Suraj Tiu were also present.
