New Delhi, June 14: The Supreme Court has issued notice to the Center and NTA (National Testing Agency) today on Friday on a petition requesting a CBI inquiry into the allegations of NEET-UG 2024 question paper leak and other irregularities.
The Supreme Court asked the Center, NTA and others to respond in two weeks in this matter. The petition requesting a CBI investigation will be heard on July 8.
In this context, the Supreme Court has issued notices to private parties regarding the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) petition to transfer cases related to the NEET-UG controversy, currently pending in various high courts, to the Supreme Court.
During the hearing of a PIL filed by Hiten Singh Kashyap, a vacation bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta also demanded responses from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Bihar government within a two-week timeframe.

SC takes note of multiple pending petitions in High Courts on NEET-UG 2024
The bench took note of the argument made by the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) counsel that multiple petitions are pending in various high courts, demanding the cancellation of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 due to allegations of question paper leaks and other irregularities.
The bench, while ordering the issuance of notices, stated that the hearing on this matter would be held on July 8.
Meanwhile, the NTA said that it wants to withdraw three other petitions requesting the transfer of cases from the high courts to the Supreme Court, as these are related to awarding grace marks to 1,563 candidates based on time wasted during the exam on May 5.
NTA cancels grace marks, offers June 23 retest
Amid the growing controversy surrounding the NEET-UG examination, the NTA informed the Supreme Court on Thursday that the decision to award grace marks to 1,563 candidates for NEET-UG 2024 has been revoked. These candidates will now have the option to retake the exam on June 23.
