Ranchi, June 16: Chief Minister Champai Soren today said that the Jharkhand Government is going to provide 200 units of free electricity to domestic consumers soon.
Soren, after taking over the reins of the State in February, had hiked the free power to 125 units from 100 units fixed by former Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
Strengthening basic system is a priority
Laying the foundation stone of a slew of projects at a programme organized in Matkambeda village located in Rajnagar block of Seraikela-Kharsawan district, the Chief Minister said that we will soon strengthen the basic system and include Jharkhand among the leading states. “Now we are going to implement such a system in every panchayat of the state, where medicines will be available 24 hours a day,” he added.
He said that Shaheed Gram Matkambeda village would be an ideal village. “Our youth are an important link in the development of home, society and state. Today I appeal to the youth here to stay away from drug abuse. Creating a drug-free society is the moral responsibility of all of us. Drug addiction causes destruction,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that the government is making every effort to live up to people’s hopes, aspirations and trust.
“Works related to public interest are being done continuously. The state government is committed to ensuring that the welfare schemes of the government are implemented on the ground. Now the farmers of the state will have water in their fields throughout the year,” he said.
Money will not become a hindrance to studies
Chief Minister Champai Soren said that the government is giving the benefit of the Guruji Credit Card Scheme to children of all classes and communities including tribals, Dalits, labourers, farmers, and minorities of the state.
“Now the education of our children will not stop due to money. Our government is constantly striving to strengthen the education system,” he said.
Gift of 182 schemes
On this occasion, the Chief Minister distributed assets worth about 54 crore 42 lakh 46 thousand 498 rupees among the beneficiaries and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 182 schemes. 22 schemes worth Rs 7000.759 lakh were inaugurated. At the same time, the foundation stone of 160 schemes was laid for Rs 16709.805 lakh.
