The High Court refused to accept the argument made by Kejriwal’s lawyer, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, which stated that there was no need for an urgent hearing on the petition.

The ED’s lawyer argued that they were not given sufficient time to argue the case in the lower court. ASG Raju informed the High Court that they were not given time to file written submissions, which he stated was completely unfair.

Citing Section 45 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), ASG Raju argued that the ED’s case was very strong. He also opposed the presence of Singhvi.

ED had requested urgent hearing in Delhi HC today itself

The ED stated in its Special Leave Petition (SLP) that releasing Kejriwal at a crucial stage of the investigation would impact the probe, given his important position as Chief Minister.
