Mumbai, June 24: The Narcotics Control Bureau busted an inter-state syndicate by arresting four individuals and seizing 111 kg of ganja, valued at approximately Rs 2 crore, from Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra, an official reported on Monday.

An official from the NCB’s Mumbai zonal unit stated that the Pune-based syndicate was engaged in the illegal trafficking of ganja and other drugs from Odisha for distribution in Mumbai and Pune.

He also mentioned that the ganja shipment was confiscated near Pathardi in Ahmednagar district, and four individuals suspected of drug trafficking were apprehended.

The official also stated that NCB investigators seized two vehicles used for transporting drugs, with further investigations currently ongoing.

He added that the Pune-based network was identified through active surveillance and other investigative methods.

He noted that the traffickers frequently changed their hideouts, routes, and mobile numbers to evade arrest, emphasizing the challenges in capturing those involved in the inter-state drug racket.

He stated that thorough and discreet surveillance had provided extensive intelligence on their methods and operational patterns.
