New Delhi, Nov 15: In response to the concerning condition observed in one of Delhi’s largest government hospitals, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed the matter on Wednesday. He instructed Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain to implement corrective measures for the situation.

This follows an incident on Tuesday when an individual raised awareness about the matter and shared on X, “Toilets are overflowing, and full of filth, this is how the hospitals of Delhi are, the picture is of the largest GTB hospital across Yamuna, where patients, attendants and staff have to pass through the toilet with a cloth tied over their mouths. The cleanliness system in the hospital is zero.”

The hospital was coated in dust and had filthy, wet floors in the photo that the complainant posted on his social media account.

Acknowledging the complaint, Arvind Kejriwal stated, “I have directed the health minister to visit the hospital today along with senior officials and take corrective steps.”

The Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital (GTB) ranks among the largest government hospitals in Delhi.

In September, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced the construction of more than 10 new hospitals in Delhi to enhance the city’s healthcare facilities.

The AAP government announced that the establishment of 11 new hospitals would contribute over 10,000 beds to Delhi’s healthcare infrastructure. These hospitals are expected to strengthen Delhi’s health facilities, benefiting a significant number of residents in the city.
