Dhanbad, Nov 15: Town Commissioner Rituraj Sharma has set up a seven-member committee to probe the Kenduadih Bazar fire incident in which three members of a family, including a six-year-old girl died on Monday night.
The committee under assistant town commissioner Dipak Kumar has to submit a probe report in five days (by November 18) before the Chhath festival. The Town Commissioner has directed the committee to probe the reason for the fire and other factors of the incident including the hurdle that appeared in launching the rescue operation.
Assistant engineer cum Town Planner Vinay Kumar Singh, City Manager Rajnish Lal, junior engineer Rajesh Kumar, Kartik Upadhyay, junior engineer (electric Dipak Kumar) and Ward Supervisor Om Prakash Chouhan are other members of the probe committee.
On Monday night, a fire broke out in the Kenduadih Jabor Bazar-based cosmetic shop of Ashok Gupta. His mother, sister and daughter died in the incident. the shop was on the ground floor and the Gupta family was living on the upper floor.
The rescue operation was delayed as the firefighting team was not able to reach the spot due to the narrow lane of Jabor Bazar. The reason for the fire is still a mystery as to whether the Diya of Diwali or short circuit triggered the tragedy.
Town Commissioner Rituraj Sharma has taken the tragedy seriously. He has asked the committee to probe the reason for the fire and other subjects.
