Despite repeated efforts by the Jugsalai Municipal Council to maintain cleanliness, the Bata Chowk GVP Point has been plagued by sporadic garbage dumping, which adversely affected the sanitation system and created considerable inconvenience for local residents.

In response, a comprehensive clean-up operation was conducted, which included connecting all shops in the area with a door-to-door waste collection system. The area was thoroughly cleaned, and lime bleaching was applied to disinfect the space.

Additionally, a banner poster was installed to provide general information and guidelines to discourage improper waste disposal.

Citizens urged to abide by Jharkhand Municipality Act

Proper segregation of wet garbage, dry waste, domestic hazardous waste, sanitary waste, e-waste, construction debris, coal waste, and soil is essential.

The Council emphasizes that improper disposal, including throwing or burning waste in public spaces, rivers, drains, or roads, is punishable under the Jharkhand Municipality Act.

Non-compliance with these guidelines will result in legal action and financial penalties as stipulated by the relevant sections of the Act.

Present at the event were Jugsalai Municipal Council Executive Officer Rajendra Kumar, City Manager Jyoti Punj, Swachhata Expert Amrita Sakshi, and Swachhata Supervisor Ajay Kumar Singh, all of whom reiterated their commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the area.
