Jharkhand Weather: Light to moderate rain forecast at many places today

Jamshedpur, July 27: Many places across Jharkhand would witness light to moderate rain during the next 24 hours, said a bulletin issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

Weathermen said there are no possibilities of heavy showers in the next 24 hours.

Under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh, a low-pressure area has formed over the North Bay of Bengal and adjoining Coastal areas of Bangladesh and Gangetic West Bengal.

An associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.

It is likely to move westnorth-west wards across Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand during the next 24 hours.

The Monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Shri Ganganagar, Rohtak, Delhi, Agra, Siddhi, Daltonganj, Asansol and thence southeastwards to the centre of above low pressure area and extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.

It’s almost the end of July, a peak monsoon month and the state’s rain deficit currently stands at 47 per cent.

None of the 24 districts could achieve surplus rain so far.
