Ranchi, August 6: State school cooks will sit on an indefinite Mahadharna before the Governor’s house to implement the agreement from August 26.

The decision was taken at a central committee meeting of the Jharkhand State Schools Rasoiya (Cook) Association held in Mahendra Singh Bhawan Ranchi today. The Association president, Anita Devi, chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, presidents of all 24 district units were present and they expressed concern over the attitude of the state government and resolved to intensify agitation if the education minister fails to take steps on demands.

State general secretary Geeta Mandal, after the meeting, said that as per agitational plans on August 11,  cooks will hand over all MLAs of the state regarding their demand and work under protest  ( wearing black badges) from August 16.

“Even though the state government does not consider pending demands, all 81,000 cooks working in schools across the state will sit on indefinite Mahadharna before the Governor House from  August 26,” said President Anita and General Secretary Geeta  Mandal.

Ravindra Bhuian (Palamu), Manoj Kumar Kushwaha (Godda), Munda Baski ( Dumka), Kashmina Khatoon, Dila Devi ( Garhwa), Brinda Devi, Sundri Devi ( Giridih), Chinta Devi (Deoghar), Sarita Devi, Lalmuni Devi, Rekha Devi, Lalita Devi, Munni Devi, Nuresha Khatoon, Koushalya Devi, Baijanti Devi,  Bijay Giri, Sarita Devi and representatives of different districts were present at the meeting.

At the meeting, the state committee appointed Pratap Birua as West Singhbhum district in-charge of the organization.
