Ranchi, August 14: On the occasion of Independence Day, 19 policemen and officers of Jharkhand including SP Deepak Pandey will be awarded gallantry medals and meritorious service medals in various categories.
Seven policemen will be awarded medals for gallantry and 11 policemen will be awarded medals for meritorious service.
For the first time in history, Jharkhand Fire Service personnel will be awarded gallantry medals, apart from this, fireman Pyarelal Tambwar of Jharkhand Fire Department will receive the gallantry medal.

Bravery medals will be awarded to seven police officers and officials, including SP Deepak Pandey, Sub-Inspector Vishwajeet Singh, ASI Sachidanand Singh, Havaldar Umesh Singh, Constable Subhash Das, Constable Ravindra Toppo, and Constable Gopal Ganjhu.
Eleven police officers and officials will be honoured with commendation medals for their exemplary service. The recipients include Constable Ravindra Kumar Singh, Constable Vimal Kumar Chettri, Havaldar Salomi Minj, Havaldar Sanjay Oraon, Constable Hema Rani, Constable Rekha Kumari, Constable Sanjeev Gupta, Havaldar Rituraj, Havaldar Rajendra Ram, Havildar Arun Oraon, and Havaldar Sanjay Kumar.
