Giridih, August 17: Assam Chief Minister and Jharkhand Assembly Election Co-Incharge Himanta Biswa Sarma, along with Jharkhand BJP President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, visited the family of the late Havildar Chauhan Hembrom in Bengabad, Giridih district.

This area falls within the assembly constituency of Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife, Kalpana Soren.
Before the BJP leaders’ arrival, the administration relocated Hembrom’s wife and children to another location, and the in-laws who came to meet them were also taken away by the police.

Sarma and Marandi meet mother of the deceased havildar

At Hembrom’s home, Sarma and Marandi met with the elderly mother of the deceased and other villagers, gathering details about the incident and expressing their sorrow. They assured that the BJP would provide all possible assistance.

Speaking to the media, Himanta Biswa Sarma strongly criticized the state government, calling it anti-tribal, insensitive, and authoritarian, concerned only with vote banks.
He accused the Hemant government of appeasing criminals, particularly those from certain communities and religions, and protecting them.

Sarma targets CM Hemant over escape of murderer Ansari

Sarma highlighted the brutal murder of Havildar Chauhan Hembrom by Shahid Ansari, a convicted criminal serving a sentence for gang rape, who had been placed under Hembrom’s security while receiving treatment at Hazaribagh Medical College. Ansari escaped after murder.

Sarma emphasized that the fact that such a dangerous criminal could escape after killing a security officer reveals the state’s broken law and order. He suggested that Ansari’s continued evasion of capture indicated police protection under government influence.

Sarma also criticized Chief Minister Hemant Soren, claiming that Soren, who boasts of his tribal heritage, seemed untroubled by the murder of a tribal havildar, showing no signs of concern.
He assured that the BJP is taking this issue seriously and is committed to uprooting such political thinking from the state.

Sarma also expressed the BJP’s sympathies towards Hembram’s family, promising full support, and urged the state government to ensure the immediate arrest and execution of Shahid Ansari.

Marandi accuses Hemant govt of protecting criminals

State BJP President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi criticized the Hemant Soren government, accusing it of becoming a protector of both crime and criminals. He stated that the tribal community, which has suffered the most under this government, remains the most affected.
Marandi emphasized that no one in the state, whether ordinary citizens or prominent figures, is safe, as criminals are successfully committing crimes on the streets, in homes, in prisons, and even in hospitals.

Marandi attributed this situation to the government’s protection of criminals and accused the Hemant Soren government of extreme appeasement. He pointed out that the government is even preventing people from meeting the victim’s family, referring to the recent instances where they were stopped from visiting Gopinathpur and where the family was removed from their home in Bengabad, leaving only the elderly mother behind.

Marandi remarked that the truth cannot be hidden for long and that the reality of the Hemant government has already been fully exposed.

He demanded the immediate arrest of Shahid Ansari, the convicted criminal who murdered Havildar Chauhan Hembram, and called for a fast-track court trial to ensure Ansari receives the death penalty.
