New Delhi, August 18: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has arrived in Delhi from Kolkata. Speaking to the media at Delhi Airport, Champai Soren stated that he is in Delhi for personal reasons, specifically to visit his daughter who lives there. He mentioned that he frequently travels to Delhi.
When asked about his meeting with Suvendu Adhikari in Kolkata, he responded that he intends to stay where he is currently. Regarding his removal from the Chief Minister position by the JMM, Champai Soren said that if questions are framed in such a manner, what answer should he provide.
He reiterated that he is in Delhi for personal reasons and denied having met anyone in Kolkata, including Suvendu Adhikari.

However, JMM’s central committee member, Birendra Pradhan confirmed the information about Champai Soren going to New Delhi to join the BJP.
“The former chief minister Champai Soren has gone to New Delhi to join the BJP. About 10 legislators from the JMM have also accompanied him to New Delhi,” Pradhan said while replying to the queries by The Jharkhand Story.
On Saturday, Champai Soren arrived in Kolkata and according to sources he met with BJP leaders there. Sources indicate that he had a meeting with BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari in Kolkata yesterday.

Champai Soren assumed the role of Jharkhand’s Chief Minister in February this year after Hemant Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in the land scam case. His time as the 12th Chief Minister of Jharkhand was short-lived as after Hemant Soren was released from jail on bail, Champai Soren was dislodged from the chief minister’s post.
