The camp aimed to address the critical need for blood donations, particularly for Thalassemia patients, and to encourage community participation in lifesaving efforts. The highlight of the event was a spirited nukkad natak performed by BPT students, raising awareness about the importance of donating blood.

23 persons donate blood

The event saw a promising turnout, with 40 participants registering, out of which 23 successfully donated blood.

The process was efficiently managed by a dedicated team of 15 volunteers, including medical professionals, physiotherapy students, and members of the Health Services Committee. The blood collection was overseen by trained technicians and doctors from Sadar Hospital, ensuring the safety and comfort of the donors.

Post-donation care was a priority, with refreshments and recovery snacks provided to all donors. A comfortable recovery area was set up to ensure their well-being. Additionally, educational booths were set up to inform attendees about the blood donation process, eligibility criteria, and the significant impact of their contributions.

The event was a resounding success, highlighting the spirit of community service and the importance of blood donation in saving lives, said a release issued by UMU.
