The forecast also suggested a gradual rise in maximum temperature by two to three degrees Celsius in the next 72 hours.

Today satellite pictures showed a cyclonic circulation over east-central Bay of Bengal extending up to 5.8 Km above mean sea level tilting southward with height.

Under its influence, a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over east central  and  adjoining North Bay of Bengal today ( August 29).

It is likely to move west-northwestwards close to south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts during the next two days.

Satellite images also indicated an east-west trough stretched over south-east Uttar Pradesh to the cyclonic circulation over east-central Bay of Bengal extending up to 3.1 Km above mean sea level.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level was yesterday passing through the centre of deep depression over Saurashtra and Kutch, Udaipur, Shivpuri, Churk, Daltonganj, Digha and thence south eastwards to east central Bay of Bengal.

Jharkhand’s rain deficit existed at 9 per cent today which is as good as normal. Against the normal of 778 mm, the state has so far received 707 mm of rain.

Dhanbad, Garhwa,  Khunti,  Palamu, Ranchi, Simdega,  Seraikela-Kharsawan,  Latehar and Giridih have achieved surplus rain while the rest of the 15 districts still figure in the rain loss list.
