Jamshedpur, Sept 4: Monsoon activity would remain weak over Jharkhand in the next few days, said weathermen today.
IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre predicted light rain in a few places during the next 72- hours. A few isolated places might also witness thundershowers and lightning.
Monsoon trough at mean sea level
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Jaisalmer, Udaipur, the centre of a low-pressure area over west Vidarbha, Ramagundam, Kalingapatnam and thence southeastwards to east-central Bay of Bengal.

According to satellite pictures, a cyclonic circulation lies over east Bangladesh and the neighbourhood at 0.9 km above the mean sea level.
Met department officials said a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal around September 5.
But, it’s too early to say whether the low pressure would intensify into a depression.
