Jamshedpur, September 5:  Jamshedpur Truck Trailer Owners Association held a press conference at Hotel Dayal International, Sakchi, on Thursday, 5:00 pm. The event was led by President Jasbir Singh Sira, General Secretary Manish Kumar, Patron Shri Dhananjay Rai, and Satbir Singh Somu, who provided updates on the association’s upcoming events and addressed key concerns within the industry.

The association announced that the annual Vishwakarma Puja will take place on 17th September 2024 at the Transport Nagar parking premises. Following the puja, prasad and bhog will be distributed on 18th September, with a cultural program featuring a prominent Bhojpuri artist scheduled for the evening of 19th September.

The leaders expressed deep concern over the stagnant freight rates, which have remained unchanged for the past four years despite sharp increases in vehicle, diesel, engine parts, and tire costs.

They warned that if freight rates are not revised by 13th September 2024, they would resort to blocking roads and halting all freight movement in the Jamshedpur and Seraikela-Kharswan districts.

A memorandum outlining their demands will be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner and other officials, and they will call for a bandh if necessary. The association made it clear that any disruptions to the supply chain would be the responsibility of the companies involved.

Additionally, the association voiced support for recent strikes initiated by unions in Joda and Keonjhar and emphasized that they expect similar solidarity if their demands are not addressed.

The press conference was attended by several prominent members, including Pradeep Sharma, Beattu Tiwari, Ranjit Singh, Sanjay Singh, Ratnesh Singh, Minhaj Khan, Shakti Singh, Alok Singh, Amit, Munendra Yadav, Mahendra Yadav, Abhay Singh, Jahangir, Gunjan Manish Ojha, Vikas, Paras Nath, Sarabjit, Sukhdev, Shankar Dayal, Charanjit Singh Monu, Pintu Singh, Shyam, and Kaushal Kishore. The association remains hopeful for a positive and timely response from all stakeholders.
