Daltonganj, Sept 10: 335 petitions poured in today at the Jan Shikayat Samadhan Karyakaram (JSSK) in Palamu.

SP Reeshma Ramesan said this evening, “There came 335 petitions alone today. It’s a popular reflection on the relevance and utility of the JSSK.”

She said 71 petitions were disposed of on the spot.

Ahead of it, there had come 238 petitions between September 5 and 9.

Reeshma Ramesan further said, “Today 11 FIRs were lodged.”

IG of police Palamu zone N K Singh presided over the JSSK in Daltonganj.

Cosy arrangement for public

There was a cosy arrangement for the public.

It was a success in every sense. First people walked into the JSSK with heads high. They knew they would be heard. And they were heard too.

Again, the presence of IG N K Singh and SP Reeshma Ramesan further emboldened the poor common man today who thinks thrice before stepping into the police station as to whether he will be heard or shown the door.

There came a woman crying against her husband. The JSSK team counselled her and made her understand why she should not allow her family to fracture. The woman agreed to live in peace with her husband.

The public who attended the JSSK phoned this correspondent saying that the IG sahib has asked us to complain about police officers in the police station who refuse to listen to them and deny the right to lodge an FIR.
