Indian men’s hockey team beats Malaysia 8-1 in Asian Championship Trophy

Moqi, September 11: Rajkumar Pal’s stunning hat-trick and Araijeet Singh Hundal’s two goals powered the Indian Men’s Hockey Team to a dominant 8-1 victory over Malaysia in their third match of the Asian Champions Trophy in China’s Moqi on Wednesday.

Along with Rajkumar Pal (3′, 25′, 33′) and Araijeet Singh Hundal (6′, 39′), Jugraj Singh (7′), Captain Harmanpreet Singh (22′), and Uttam Singh (40′) also found the net, contributing to India’s third straight win in the tournament.

On the other hand, Malaysia’s only goal came from Akhimullah Anuar (34′).

This victory strengthened India’s position at the top of the points table, giving them nine points from three matches.

India is set to face Korea in their fourth match of the tournament on Thursday, 12th September 2024, at 1:15 PM IST.
