Ranchi, Sept 22: The Jharkhand Police today said that the Combined Graduate Level Examination conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) was conducted on September 21-22 at a total of 823 centres in the state without any malpractice.
Following instructions from Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Director General of Police Anurag Gupta issued elaborate guidelines to conduct the examinations peacefully and without any malpractice.
A release, issued by the police headquarters, said temporary control rooms were set up in each district so that law and order remain tight in the entire state. “During this period, the control rooms of all the districts remained connected with the control room of the police headquarters and information was being shared every moment,” it said.
The release further said in each district, CCTV cameras were installed around the strong rooms made for the safe keeping of question papers and in addition to the premises of the examination centres, at the main gate as well, so that the movement of vehicles carrying question papers, candidates and other people was being monitored completely,” it added.

“In the districts, the accommodation places of the candidates coming from outside, such as hotels, lodges, resorts, guest houses etc. were kept under strict surveillance and continuous checking was carried out at those places,” the release added.
According to the Jharkhand police, during the examination, an adequate number of police forces was deployed at all the centres for better maintenance of law and order. “Candidates were allowed to enter the examination hall only after being searched. Women police officers and women personnel were specially deployed to frisk women candidates,” it added.
“The provisions of The Jharkhand Competitive Examination Act- 2023 were publicized and disseminated at all places of stay including hotels, lodges, hostels, and guest houses around all the examination centres of the state. Along with this, the operators of all the places of stay including all the hotels, lodges, hostels, and guest houses were also informed that if any wrong information or rumour related to the examination was spread, then legal action would be taken against the rumour mongers as well as the operators if found involved, which had a significant effect and no such information was received from around the accommodation places,” it added.
The release further said that to control any kind of rumour or false news related to the examination, strict monitoring was also kept on those who tried to spread rumours and misconduct through social media or in any other way, which played an important role in successfully conducting the Jharkhand General Graduate Level Qualified Combined Competitive Examination 2023 organized by Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission in the entire state.
