Jamshedpur, Sept 23: Jamshedpur is gearing up for the much-anticipated “Run for Sadbhavana,” the city’s largest running event, which has been a key part of local traditions for the past 14 years. This year’s run is scheduled for October 2, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti, and will see approximately 15,000 participants taking to the streets to spread the message of unity and goodwill.

The event will kick off at 6:30 AM from Sakchi roundabout, passing through the scenic Jubilee Park and culminating at Dorabji Tata Park (Modi Park). Participants will be provided with special Sadbhavana T-shirts to mark the occasion.

Speaking at a press conference, event chairperson Vikas Singh expressed enthusiasm about the expected turnout, highlighting the consistent participation of around 12,000 to 15,000 runners in past years. “The objective of this event is to promote the values of harmony and togetherness, especially among the youth of Jamshedpur,” Singh stated.

The organizing team for this year’s run includes several key figures, with Red Cross Secretary Vijay Singh serving as the chief patron. Other key members include Rashmi Singh (organizing committee president), Udit Agarwal (general secretary), Dharmendra Kumar (treasurer), and Kundan Kumar Chandra (program coordinator).

A network of area coordinators has also been appointed to ensure smooth operations across the city, including Sadan Hussain for Mango, Vikas Sharma for Telco, Adhiraj Tiwari for Burmamines, Sujay Kumar for Adityapur, Yudhishthir for Birsanagar, Sandeep Sharma for Nildih, Mantosh Thakur for Ghorabandha, and Rishabh Singh for Golmuri.
