Principal District and Session Judge inaugurates training program

Dhanbad, Sept 23: Principal District and Session Judge, Ram Sharma, who also serves as the chairman of the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), flagged off a door-to-door campaign aimed at raising legal awareness.
The campaign is being carried out by newly appointed Para Legal Volunteers, who will educate the public on their legal rights and the government’s welfare schemes.
Training workshop for Para Legal volunteers
The event coincided with the inauguration of a five-day training workshop for 131 Para Legal Volunteers appointed by the Jharkhand Legal Services Authority (JLSA).
During the session, Judge Ram Sharma emphasised that the volunteers would ensure that no one is deprived of their rights or benefits.
“People are already being made aware through the ‘Chalant Lok Adalat’, and their disputes are being resolved,” he noted.

Key role of Para Legal volunteers
District and Session Judge Sanjay Kumar Singh highlighted the importance of the volunteers, describing them as the frontline workers of DLSA, through whom legal aid and government scheme benefits are provided to the public.
Meanwhile, First Division Judge and DLSA Secretary Rakesh Roshan explained that the newly appointed volunteers would assist individuals who lack legal knowledge, spreading awareness and offering support.
Rakesh Roshan further explained that these volunteers would be appointed at police stations to offer legal assistance to people in need.
Dhanbad Bar Association addresses training session
Dhanbad Bar Association President Amrendra Sahay and General Secretary Jitendra Kumar also addressed the training programme, discussing the responsibilities of the volunteers and outlining how they should carry out their duties during the campaign.
The newly appointed Para Legal Volunteers were briefed on their responsibilities and trained on how to effectively conduct the door-to-door campaign.
