Daltonganj, Oct 4: Puja pandal organisers have been advised to have proper and legal electricity connections to their pandals.

Executive engineer of electricity Shambhu Nath Choudhury said, “We admonish organisers not to use Chinese wire under any circumstance. It’s very risky and dangerous.”

“Further no electricity wire should be mutilated or taped or even slightly open as it invites unforeseen dangers to life,” added Choudhury.

He said, “We know electricity wires are laid just over the ground in such celebration. It’s highly life-threatening. All cables have to be underground. No cable over the ground. Pandals’ organisers must ensure cables underground and not overground.”

Choudhury conceded that only four or five Puja pandals here in Daltonganj have proper and legal electricity connections. “The remaining ones are having it in their way. This doesn’t seem right,” he added.

“I make a sincere appeal to organisers to have a legal connection. This will involve installing a board with a switch, fuse and miniature circuit breaker. It prevents mishap. It’s always good to be safe in devotion and prayer.” reiterated Choudhury.

“All electricity connections or instruments must be beyond the reach of the faithful,” added the executive engineer. He said decoration is good but not at the cost of life.
