Dhanbad, Oct 28: Dhanbad police rescued 43 cows packed in a container at Maithon Toll Plaza near the Jharkhand-West Bengal border on Monday. Three individuals were arrested in connection with the incident.
Nirsa SDPO Rajat Manik Bakhla informed the media that the container carrying the cows was travelling from Gaya district in Bihar to Kolkata in West Bengal. When intercepted by Mathon police at the toll plaza for inspection, three individuals attempted to flee the vehicle.

The arrested individuals were identified as Fateh Alam, Nasim Ahmed, and Kailash Kumar. During interrogation, they informed the police that they were transporting the cows from Gaya district to Kolkata.
The Mathon police station officer in charge, Aman Aakristi, stated that after a health check-up of the cows, they were sent to Ganga Goushala in Katras. An FIR is being lodged against the arrested individuals.
