New Delhi, Oct 30: Indian Army sources confirmed on Wednesday that the disengagement process between India and China in Eastern Ladakh’s Depsang and Demchok areas has now been completed.
Sources added that after the disengagement, both sides are set to begin coordinated patrols within their respective areas soon.
According to Army sources, ground commanders will continue discussions, and a Diwali sweets exchange is scheduled for tomorrow.
India has been striving to settle this prolonged dispute and return the situation to its pre-April 2020 state, before Chinese aggression began in the area.

India announced on October 21 that it had reached an agreement with China on patrolling along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, effectively ending a military standoff that lasted over four years.
Earlier on October 23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Russia, where they both endorsed the agreement regarding patrolling arrangements along the LAC in eastern Ladakh.
The meeting occurred subsequent to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announcing the new patrolling arrangements along the LAC in the border areas between India and China.
