New Delhi, Nov 26: During the ‘Samvidhan Diwas’ celebrations at Samvidhan Sadan in Parliament, President Droupadi Murmu released a commemorative coin and stamp on Tuesday to mark the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India.
Speaking at the joint session of both Houses of Parliament on Constitution Day, President Murmu said, “Our Constitution is a living and progressive document. Through our Constitution, we have achieved the goals of social justice and inclusive development.”
On the occasion, President Murmu also launched two books related to the Constitution of India.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla congratulated countrymen on Constitution Day, stating that the Constitution is the outcome of years of “penance, sacrifice, ingenuity, strength and ability” of the Indian people.
The Constitution Day celebration at Samvidhan Sadan was attended by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other prominent leaders.
The event marks the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949, with the Constitution officially coming into force on January 26, 1950.
