Jharkhand News: Hindu groups in Dhanbad protest against persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh

Dhanbad, Dec 4: Thousands of activists from various Hindu organisations took to the streets today, demonstrating at Randhir Verma Chowk to protest against the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh and the arrest of ISKCON priests.

The protesters, carrying placards and chanting slogans, condemned the actions of the Bangladesh government and called for stronger action from the Indian government to end the atrocities on Hindus there.

Hindu Rashtriya Samanvya Samiti leads protest

The demonstration was organised by the Hindu Rashtriya Samanvya Samiti, with active participation from Dhanbad’s ISKCON members, BJP leaders, Bajrang Dal activists, and members of other local Hindu organizations.

The protest lasted from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, after which the group marched to the deputy commissioner’s office to submit a memorandum.

Among the prominent demonstrators were former BJP MP PN Singh, Dhanbad Sadar MLA Raj Sinha, former Nirsa MLA Aparna Sengupta, and other leaders like Hari Prakash Lata, Sanjay Jha, Manas Prasun, Nitin Bhatt, Mukesh Pandey, and Sharad Pandey.

MLA Raj Sinha condemns attacks on Hindus

Speaking to the protesters, MLA Raj Sinha expressed his strong opposition to the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh. “I am a Hindu, and I will join in all protests against atrocities on Hindus,” Sinha said.

He condemned the targeting of Hindu temples and the arrest of ISKCON priest Chinmoy Das, calling it an illegal act that must be protested. He also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take immediate action to stop the atrocities and ensure the safety of Hindus and temples in Bangladesh.

“I urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take immediate action over Bangladesh issue for checking atrocities on Hindus and safety of temple there,” he said.

Memorandum sent to PM

After the demonstration, a delegation from the Hindu Rashtriya Samanvya Samiti proceeded to the collectorate, where they submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the Deputy Commissioner of Dhanbad.
