Jamshedpur’s economic significance and impact of airport’s absence
According to Moonka, it has been more than 100 years since Jamshedpur was established which is also known as Steel City, the prestigious city of the country and is also called the industrial city along with the economic capital of Jharkhand state.
“But still today its overall development has not taken place. For this, it is very important to establish an airport in Jamshedpur,” he pointed out.
General secretary of the trade outfit Manav Kedia said that in absence of an airport, investors are not coming here and new businesses and industries are suffering.
Vice Presidents Abhishek Aggarwal and Puneet Kanwatia said that Jharkhand state gets maximum revenue from Jamshedpur. More than 1,300 large, medium and small industries are functional in Jamshedpur and adjoining Adityapur industrial area but the city lacks an airport.
